Millennium Fellowship Project: Eco Equity Community Three Million Trees' Campaign
Eco Equity Community's 3 Million trees' Greening Uganda campaign is a campaign aimed at planting 3 million trees countrywide as one way to curb climate change mitigation and adaptation in the country. In this project, Gender Equality and Youth Inclusion has been at the forefront as one way of promoting an inclusive environment for all. In this campaign, we planted 10000 bamboo plantlets along the buffer area in the River Rwizi catchment area, planted 300 fruit trees in Sanga Secondary school, Lake Mburo school and Bishop Girls' school. We also planted Medicinal trees in Kiruhura campus as one way of promoting research and innovation. With collaboration between us and National Forestry Authority and National Coalition for Human Rights Defenders, we planted 409 trees in the Mbarara city independence park. We are still progressing with the planting and we look forward to an agro silvopastrolism system to enhance agriculture and sustainability in families.
