Millennium Fellowship Project: Mission Resilience: Climate Resilience in Mission Hill and Roxbury

The Mission Resilience project aims to assess and improve the climate resiliency
efforts of the Mission Hill neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. This project proposal has several phases. To start, I would need to conduct a vulnerability assessment of the area to find the points of vulnerability and potential climate threats to this neighborhood. This step would involve community engagement, data collection, and evaluation of previous studies. Next, working with community organizations and residents, I would identify strategies to address the vulnerability concerns observed in the last step, involving both climate mitigation and adaptation strategies. These strategies may include (but are not limited to) improving emergency protocols and sustainable infrastructure, improving and increasing access to green spaces, and increasing climate and environmental stewardship. Next, I would work with the community to implement these strategies in an equitable manner.
