Millennium Fellowship Project: Health in the Heartland

The Health in the Heartland project was an initiative focused on improving healthcare accessibility in rural areas. This successful endeavor encompassed a multifaceted approach, including the promotion of basic hygiene, the implementation of strategies to expand healthcare facilities, and the cultivation of health literacy. The project's impact extended to 100s of rural residents through awareness campaigns and medical checkup camps. Aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goal 3, the project made significant strides in enhancing healthcare accessibility and promoting overall well-being in underserved rural communities

About the Millennium Fellow

Pahal Shrivastava is a pre-final year BTech undergrad in Chemical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Karnataka , with an unwavering commitment to drive positive community change. With a focus on community impact and social change, Pahal ardently desires to make a difference in healthcare. Her passion drives her to create impactful projects, including awareness and medical checkup camps, along with telemedicine platforms, aiming to bridge healthcare accessibility gaps. Pahal's involvement as a Student Consultant at 180DC NITK further showcases her dedication to nonprofit organizations, aiding her in achieving her goals and fostering hands-on learning. The UN Millennium Fellowship's support fuels Pahal's confidence in making substantial healthcare contributions.
