Millennium Fellowship Project: Material Memories: Remnants of an Eviction

The Delhi demolitions took a lot more than mere houses of concrete. For many, their houses are a representation of their culutre, an embodiment of what their family has stood on for decades and often centuries. The project is an idea to attempt to transform an otherised neighbourhood and a group of people and bring them into the collective consciousness again. We plan on creating a photojournal which would change the narrative regarding these neighbourhoods from a point of view of being 'others to a view of empathy.

About the Millennium Fellow

Suryansh Singh (he/him) is a Law Student in Delhi, India. In this project, he wishes to challenge his admiration for architectural artefacts and victims of their loss to create a memoir, humanising the victims behind the numbers.
