Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Vidya Shakti (Empowering Education for Tribal Girls)
Project Vidya Shakti is a transformative 6-month initiative operating under the United Nations Millennium Fellowship. The project is centered on addressing the high middle school dropout rates among tribal girls in Jharkhand, India. The multifaceted approach involves tackling key barriers to education, including poverty, cultural norms, and the absence of role models. Through financial support, changes in cultural norms, provision of role models, and offering academic and life skills support, Vidya Shakti aims to create sustainable interventions that empower these young girls and enhance their access to education.
About the Millennium Fellow
Aditi Gupta is a law student of National University of Study and Research in Law. Her main interest lies in social work and help bring positive changes in the society. She likes to contribute towards the society at large. She is an earnest and a hardworking student.
