Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Garima
Project Garima was an ambitious project aimed at sensitization toward the plight of men and women who became prey to the witch-hunt-related violence, ostracization, and discrimination in the tribal state of Jharkhand, India.
About the Millennium Fellow
Arisha Irum is a second-year undergraduate law student studying at the National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi, the capital city of Jharkhand in India. Arisha is passionate about a host of matters, including, but not limited to, tribals and their rights, constitutional law, and women's rights throughout history. As a native of the state of Jharkhand, she's grown-up learning about the tribal rights movement and the disastrous effects of witch-hunting still prevalent in the region today. The latter is what she hopes to research on, spread awareness about and ultimately prevent someday, through the Millennium Fellowship project.
