Millennium Fellowship Project: ReducePlast

The ReducePlast project, led by Anoosha Ahmed, M. Asim Siddiqui, and Syed Aizaz Ali, stands as a beacon of transformative change within the campus community. This initiative is dedicated to instilling environmental responsibility and reducing plastic consumption through innovative strategies. It effectively raising awareness on plastic consumption and its implications among the masses. ReducePlast aims for ambitious strides, including efficient plastic disposal and collection, collaboration with industry partners for plastic repurposing, and exploration of plastic degradation strategies. It is not only a catalyst for change but also a hub for cutting-edge research, delving into cleaner waste-derived fuel and innovative approaches to address plastic pollution. As Anoosha Ahmed, M. Asim Siddiqui, and Syed Aizaz Ali guide ReducePlast into the future, their commitment to meaningful change underscores a holistic approach encompassing awareness, recycling, and pioneering research for a greener, safer, and more sustainable Earth.

About the Millennium Fellow

Muhammad Asim Siddiqui is an Applied Biosciences undergraduate student and a dedicated member of the UNMGCY. Fueled by the belief in youth's untapped potential, Asim is driven by the conviction that they can catalyze significant global change. His devotion to sustainability and the SDGs is evident through his dedication to advocating for responsible consumption and combatting climate change. Moreover, Asim channels his commitment into addressing the issue of sustainable plastic usage. Alongside his academic pursuits, Asim is committed to promoting responsible plastic usage. In his leisure time, he channels his creativity as a graphic designer. Through his multifaceted engagement, Asim endeavors to contribute meaningfully as a Millennium Fellow.
