Millennium Fellowship Project: MICROFUNDS
A microfinance project that provides microloans to poor and economically active members of Bulawayo South Province in Zimbabwe can help to alleviate poverty and promote economic growth in the region. The project main objective is to provide small loans at low-interest rates to individuals who are unable to secure loans from traditional financial institutions due to a lack of borrowing history and assets to use as collateral and classified as uncreditworthy by the standards of the Zimbabwe credit sector . The loans can be used to finance small businesses, and individuals in their early stages, enabling people to overcome barriers and progress toward lifting themselves and their families out of poverty , promote financial inclusion and improve the lives of these individuals at affordable cost, tailor made conditions that best suit them.
About the Millennium Fellow
Gift is a young man who was born in Bulawayo Zimbabwe. He grew in a nuclear family of Roman Catholics with his aunts, uncles, cousins and grandmother. He did his primary education in Bulawayo, secondary education in Masvingo province and currently studying banking and investment management at the National University of Science and technology
