Millennium Fellowship Project: YOUTH AND WOMEN EMPOWERMENT
The project is a youth and women empowerment program and it's in two phases. The youth employment and the women empowerment. I am starting with the youth Empowerment one and it's describe below .
Phase 1 of the project : The project is a youth empowerment program and it aims at improving the lives of youth in the country by providing skills development programs, financial literacy resources; increasing knowledge of different cultures and religions, and addressing food insecurity. The financial literacy resources will be provided through partnerships with local businesses and organizations. The skills development programs will include both in-person and online learning opportunities. The knowledge of other cultures and religions will be gained through community events and partnerships with community organizations. Food insecurity will be addressed through partnership with agribusinesses organization. Event that bring together different groups of young people from diverse background where youth will learn more about the importance of civic engagement and how they can be more responsible citizens. They will also be taught about the significance of embracing diversity.
In the course of the program many youth will be empowered by granting them scholarship to learn digital skills of their choice, youth with great innovative ideas will be helped with provision of fund in implementing their ideas. Also, there would be provision of funds for youth who are ready to engage in agribusinesses
About the Millennium Fellow
Olaniyi Michael Thomas is a 400 level Student in the department of Food Science and Technology, Obafemi Awolowo university. He is someone who is passionate about helping the less privilege most especially the aged, the orphans and the Youth. Olaniyi was born a farmer and has engaged in many developmental program that base on poverty alleviation through the agricultural sector. Olaniyi is always ready to help anyone who is really in need of help if he is in the capacity to render such help. He is a lover of little children. He will love to participate in more programs that are based on global development and poverty alleviation so as to make the world a better place
