Millennium Fellowship Project: SDGs Awareness Week
SDGs Awareness Week is a project of Fellows in Cohort A of Obafemi Awolowo University that addresses the low level of awareness about Sustainable Development Goals on the Campus and Ile-Ife in general. The project aims to engage undergraduates on Campus and Secondary school students on conversations and discussion to enlighten them to see their place in meeting the targets of the Sustainable Development Goals by the year 2030. Our strategies include Campus awareness rally, Secondary school sensitization, Webinar and Market Medical Outreach.
The goals of the project include
-To stimulate the interest of undergraduates on OAU Campus in social impact work
-To enlighten the Secondary school students on SDGs
- To aid quality education through distribution of learning materials to secondary school students
-To increase knowledge of and enrollment in Millennium Fellowship on our Campus especially outside of College of Health Sciences
- To promote good health and wellness of resident of Ile-Ife through a Market Medical Outreach.
About the Millennium Fellow
Oluyemisi Yesufu is a final year Electronic and Electrical Engineering student at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria. Oluyemisi is passionate about improving the Education system in the society of Ile-Ife, and desires to increase the awareness of the people and educational institutions to the increased role of education in nation building. As a Nigerian taking a course in Technology, she sees the importance and relevance of her course of study to contributing to immense development of the nation. Through her project, she hopes to help the society become a pacesetter for improved educational empowerment. After she graduates, Oluyemisi plans to earn further a master's degree in Communications Engineering .
