Millennium Fellowship Project: The Indian Food and Water Project
The Indian Food and Water Project, born from a vision to end hunger and provide clean water, serves the needy in Lucknow. Led by Samyak Mordia as part of the Millennium Fellowship at O.P. Jindal Global University, this initiative addresses immediate needs while aiming for lasting change. Through food packet distributions and access to clean water, it targets marginalized communities, low-income families, and the homeless. Aligned with Sustainable Development Goals, primarily Zero Hunger and Clean Water and Sanitation, the project tackles fundamental challenges faced by these communities. Despite initial resource limitations, the project has impacted around 500 lives, sparking discussions with NGOs and government officials for future collaborations. The aim is to expand outreach, foster partnerships, and create sustainable solutions for a hunger-free, water-secure society.
About the Millennium Fellow
Samyak Mordia is an enthusiastic, zealous and creative law student at Jindal Global Law School, O.P. Jindal Global University. He is passionate about International Law and Dispute Resolution. He is also keen about living in a world where no person goes to sleep hungry or thirsty. Samyak has worked with various organizations to help the people in rural areas and the underprivileged. Samyak is a strong believer in the power of law to create positive change. He believes that law can be used to protect human rights, promote social justice, and advance sustainable development. He is excited to use his skills and experience to make a difference in the world through the UN Millennium Fellowship.
