Millennium Fellowship Project: DEVELOPING A GREEN LIVING ENVIRONMENT; THROUGH SKILLS, TOWARDS A SUSTAINABLE WORLD

In this 21st century, the world is evolving and we humans are also evolving.

While we address the population growth we must at the same time address the effect of the population growth as youth.

Climate change is one of the great effect of rapid population growth, tackling this climate crisis and creating a sustainable future for everyone is paramount.

60% of Nigeria's population is made up of youth, making us a country with a young population.

Our Youthful population could be an advantage for us or a great disadvantage if we don't encourage more young people to tackle this climate crisis

Universities face a lot of population explosion without adequate facilities making them a target.

This is why I will be hosting a 7 days Campaign to reduce the lack of proper waste collection and disposal facilities leading to waste discharge into water bodies, causing pollution and environmental degradation which is hazardous to human health.

Plastic pollution also accounts for 3.4% of climate change which is very significant.

Rapid urban growth overwhelms authorities in areas like school communities and market places as well as Insufficient national policies worsen pollution, originating mainly from land based activities and improper waste management.

The Project is Titled "DEVELOPING A GREEN LIVING ENVIRONMENT; THROUGH SKILLS, TOWARDS A SUSTAINABLE WORLD in order to mitigate the effect of Environmental pollution in Tertiary institution environment.

This project Objective is based on the following;

🌴Inculcating Waste Management practices in student which includes reusing and recycling of waste as to eventually have garbage-free rivers through the provision of enhanced domestic waste management system and sensitization of beneficiaries on the danger of poor waste management to human health and the environment.

🌴To reduce the quantity/amount of solid waste reaching the marine and coastal environment.

🌴To put in a practical way of efficiently and effectively recycling solid waste(plastic) collected such that the participants are taught how to make passive income.

This project is majorly classified under 5 SDGs which are:
Climate Action
Good Health/Well-being
Sustainable Cities and Community
Decent Work and Economic Growth
Clean Water and Sanitation
