Millennium Fellowship Project: Viso

Created an AI based mobile app for assisting visually impaired individuals with multiple use cases such as learning tool for kids, object detection at supermarket and many more. Capable of detecting 500+ regularly used objects, currency and more. This mobile app uses AI and ML with object detection to help in act as eyes for visually impaired individuals. This system using object detection with computer vision algorithm to analyse the name of the object and store it as text. Next, it converts text to speech so that visually impaired person can hear and understand what that object is.

About the Millennium Fellow

Jahnavi G Shankar, a student pursuing a B.Tech in Data Science, Economics, and Business at Plaksha University, envisions a world where the blend of technology and economics can effectively tackle global challenges. Her dedication to lifelong learning drives her mission to make a meaningful impact on society. Though her interest in business studies is in its early stages, Jahnavi is motivated by a strong sense of purpose. She aims to use her knowledge and commitment to contribute to a happier and more equitable world, with a particular focus on helping the underprivileged.
