Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Global Gleam

Project Global Gleam provides dental hygiene kits including toothpaste, toothbrushes, and floss as well as informational/instructional pamphlets to those without access/education to dental care and oral hygiene. This project started with the donation of excess promotional products by local dentists. Inspired by the need for dental care seen while working at dental practices and going on dental missions I created this project to aid adults and children alike, educating and providing for their essential oral hygiene. For many people, oral hygiene is overlooked and simply not a priority, for others, it is something that was never taught there and not understood to be so imperative. Through the presentation and dispersal of easily digestible, illustrative, and informative pamphlets, people can use their donated products and procure, prevent, and pass on understanding and access to oral hygiene and care. Such kits are currently obtained through wholesale pricing provided through dental connections however with university and UN Fellowship backing, partnerships with companies like Johnson and Johnson and their SC Johnson Grants ie. donations of their products to charity are expected. Already, organizations like local shelters and Global Brigades, a student-led organization providing healthcare worldwide have collaborated and accepted partnerships. We provide healthcare and education to everyone, everywhere.
