Millennium Fellowship Project: Supporting Educators with AAPI Curriculum
Supporting Educators with AAPI Curriculum will supply lesson plans focused on the inclusion and representation of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) for educators in Brookline Massachusetts’ public K-8 (Kindergarten to 8th grade) schools to implement in their classrooms. This project takes the form of a website, which acts as a hub for a variety of resources. Educators will be able to navigate the various web pages to learn more about the project and its context, access the lessons and lesson plans themselves, and find resources to further their education about AAPI issues and culture and how to implement culturally inclusive content in a classroom.
About the Millennium Fellow
Lily Lockwood is a sophomore student at Pace University in Manhattan, New York. Lily spent her senior year of high school in Brookline Massachusetts working on making curriculum changes in the district that would lead to better inclusion of AAPI voices and stories. As a Korean-American who grew up in the Brookline School system, Lily understands both the direct impact of feeling invisible in curriculum and the power of community and experience-based activism.
