Millennium Fellowship Project: UN SDG#16 Promoting Peace and Inclusive Societies
The idea revolved around a dove I painted on a Canvas Board. The objective was to get everyone at PACE community to come forward and place their paint coated fingerprints on the art piece. The paint color was coordinated to synergize with the painting.
The fingerprints were from staff, students, cafeteria staff, Starbucks staff, security staff, cleaners, facilities, maintenance staff, anyone and everyone within Pace. PEACE is for everyone to uphold.
In light of recent devastating news on horrific conflicts happening to our neighbors and allies, we can all agree PEACE should never be taken for granted. It is a daily threat. We need Peace in order to survive as it applies to every approach, we take on climate change, air pollution, natural disasters, eradicating diseases, safeguarding the young, vulnerable and innocent.
Through the project, PEACE awareness was advocated among the diverse student/staff community at Pace University. most of the student population are transitioning here for 4 to 5 years. The project was aimed to serve as a reminder for everyone placing their thumbprint on the Dove painting, as a pledge to uphold PEACE wherever life's journey takes them from here on.
