Millennium Fellowship Project: Bridging STEM Learning on and off Campus Through Community Outreach
My fellowship project “Bridging STEM Outreach On and Off Campus” initiative, focuses on exposing the realms of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) for both Pace students and the surrounding community. Fueled by my passion for science, commitment to community engagement, and the help of my peers, my project encompassed academic support, high school outreach, and essential training initiatives.
About the Millennium Fellow
Ellisa Lecointe, a junior at Pace University in Pleasantville, NY, is a passionate advocate for social justice. Her upbringing in New York exposed her to educational disparities, particularly in STEM programs, fueling her determination to address this issue. Through the Millennium Fellowship, Ellisa plans to lead community outreach efforts, aiming to rectify the lack of STEM education in local high schools. Beyond her undergraduate studies in biology and public health, she aspires to earn a Master's degree in Epidemiology, focusing on marginalized communities. With unwavering dedication, Ellisa seeks to create lasting change through civic engagement.
