Millennium Fellowship Project: National Protection of Endangered Animals

Supported the efforts of The Veterinary Initiative for Endangered
Wildlife (VIEW) by reviewing the congressionally mandated State Wildlife Action Plans for all 50 states and assessing the role of wildlife health monitoring in each. Collected all the data and highlighted specific terminology pertaining to wildlife diseases and health concerns. I noted what policies are in place to protect wildlife and/or lack thereof.

About the Millennium Fellow

Harrison Bakst is a psychology student at Pace University in Pleasantville. He has always been passionate about animals and the environment since he was young. As he has matured, he has looked for ways to channel that passion into making a difference by getting involved in conservation efforts to protect vulnerable and at risk species and ecosystems. He understands the importance of the health of the environment and how that ultimately has an impact on human populations as well.
