Millennium Fellowship Project: Legal Watch Initiative
Legal Watch Initiative aims to aware illiterate, oppressed and marginalised people including women, old age people, daily wage earner and victims about their legal and fundamental rights, government policies and initiatives of various of social groups and NGOs, so that these people can avail benefits out of it and become aware of their rights. Under this initiative, we will organise workshops and legal advice in near villages. Target groups will be informed about their rights, procedure to apply for various government schemes and legal education.
About the Millennium Fellow
Yogita Khatri is a law student at Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab, India. Yogita is passionate about how an individual can have an impact on the world around them through their social and political actions. Being law student, much of her interest revolves around promoting legal literacy. Through her project, she hopes to make people aware about legal rights and policies. After she graduates, Yogita plans to go for civil services to serve the nation.
