Millennium Fellowship Project: EduCaste

EduCaste is a student-led initiative dedicated to advancing educational equity for marginalized communities in Tamil Nadu. Our mission revolves around the belief that education catalyzes breaking the cycle of discrimination within Indian society, fostering unity, and promoting a more equitable world. Our initiatives align seamlessly with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically focusing on SDGs 4 and 16. This global objective seeks to cultivate societies conducive to sustainable development, ensure access to justice for all, and nurture effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions across all societal levels.

About the Millennium Fellow

Shakeel Jegsilan, a dedicated and forward-thinking individual, is currently pursuing his education at SSN College of Engineering in India. With a profound enthusiasm for the intricate workings of physics, he has chosen the path of biomedical engineering, driven by a heartfelt desire to leverage medical technology to positively impact people's lives.

Beyond his academic pursuits, Shakeel's true essence shines through his unwavering commitment to social causes. His active involvement as the President of the Chandrodaya Interact Club, which holds the distinction of being the world's largest Interact Club, is a testament to his passion for volunteering and his desire to create a better society.

Through his ongoing projects and endeavors, Shakeel's goal is to work towards creating a more equitable environment for all children in his community, aiming to make a meaningful and lasting difference. His journey embodies the spirit of a young visionary, inspired by the prospect of bringing about positive change not only within his own society but also as an inspiration to countless others worldwide.
