Millennium Fellowship Project: Project EquiSammaan: Ensuring pay parity for women
Project EquiSammaan focuses on helping women get justice in the workplace and most importantly, get access to resources and opportunities to get them what they deserve - pay parity.
‘Equi’ refers to equal, while ‘Sammaan’ in Hindi translates to respect, and that’s the aim - equal respect and equal pay.
The objective of this project is to help women from all backgrounds get equal pay as any other gender, irrespective of their socio-economic background. It needs collaboration with NGOs, law firms, government platforms and the public at large.
The project will draw attention that most women are unaware that they’re being subjected to injustice, or believe that equal pay is even a norm. They do not know that they hold the strength, the ability and most of all — the right to object to pay disparity.
We can demand justice if we know that we can, if we know that we hold the power.
Project EquiSammaan focuses on this power - bridging every pay gap and changing lives.
