Millennium Fellowship Project: POSEIDON (Project of Seaweed's Environmental Impact and Devolopment of Oceanic Nature)
Human is fragile, but humanity may be strong. The project POSEIDON originated from the book of Vincent Doumeizel, The Seaweed Revolution. By its very clear analysis, my team and I would like to develop the idea. Through the side event of the UN Ocean Conference in 2022, Seaweed: A Revolution to Achieve Goal 14 and More, we realised that the opportunities that seaweed brought us are evermore immense. It’s time to reveal and share the power of seaweed to the world, especially in contributing to sustainable development and conservation of our environment. With the help of seaweed, humanity may endure.
About the Millennium Fellow
Li Zhengchen Jacky is a sophomore in the Dual Degree Program with Science Po Paris and the University of California, Berkeley. Jacky bears a profound interest in sustainable development and environmental conservation, as well as their connections with social sciences, public policy, and law. As a native of China, his educational experience is international and multilateral in four different countries. Through his project, he hopes to pioneer the protection and sustainable utilisation of seaweed to deter climate change. Witnessing challenges as opportunities, he prepared to embrace what Millennium Fellowship could bring to him and his project to produce widespread impacts.
