Millennium Fellowship Project: Fight Against Poverty
My social impact project name is ‘FIGHT AGAINST POVERTY’. And the SDG Goal I worked on was on SDG Goal #1 Zero Poverty, which link with SDG goal #2 zero Hunger.
I was passionate in carrying out this SDG Goals due to my passion in humanitarian service, but most especially due to the worst economic challenges we found ourselves in Nigeria, as at today, more than one thirty three million Nigerians were thrown into poverty in previous years according to our National Bureau of statistics, And this has created more unemployment, out of school children and hunger in many communities in our country Nigeria today.
Based on that I decided to have a partnership with an organization ( Prince Adubasim Hezekiah Integrated Farm Ltd. Company). We established a training center where we trained up to 300 persons both students and non-students. The training was based on two channels, the online community training and physical training.
The soft Tech skills comprises,
1. Copy Writing
2. Content creation
3. Social media marketing
4. Personal Branding etc.
We had a mentorship program for one month duration after the training to guide them sustain what they have learnt so that they can start earning income and alleviate poverty.
We also shared clothes to some women in one of the communities who are in need, and as well shared some grains to them too.
After the Fish Farm training, we empowered some of the trainees with some fish and fish farming kits to start their own business.
