Millennium Fellowship Project: RefugeMatch

RefugeMatch is a free, user-friendly app designed to create meaningful connections and provide vital support to refugees as they navigate the daunting challenges of their new lives in host countries. It operates on a simple yet powerful premise: connecting refugees with services and charities based on compatibility and proximity.

Here's how it works:

Refugee Profiles:
Refugees create personal profiles on the app, sharing information about themselves and specifying their unique needs. Whether it's legal advice, language tutoring, career counselling, childcare, or just the need for companionship, RefugeMatch provides a simple platform for refugees to articulate their requirements. This can be done in any language, as the app has an integrated translation software.

Smart Matching Algorithm:
RefugeMatch uses a smart matching algorithm that analyses the profiles of refugees and compares them with the available services and charities in the area. It assesses compatibility and proximity to ensure that the right support is always within reach. Refugees are notified when a match if found, and the app allows them to connect easily with whoever they have been paired with.

Partnerships with NGOs:
RefugeMatch collaborates with non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and charities that provide essential services to refugees. These partnerships enhance the app's effectiveness by tapping into the extensive resources and expertise that already exist.
