Millennium Fellowship Project: Rights and Wrongs

My student-led programme brings rights from the statue-books into local classrooms educating schoolchildren about why their human, civic and democratic rights matter. University students will go into local state schools across London to facillitate a curriculum of lessons covering issues including but not limited to: "Why Voting Matters", "How to: Protest" and corruption in the UK. In teaching secondary students about their democratic and civic rights we ensure that these rights are fought for and maintained.

About the Millennium Fellow

Matthew Bittle is a final year law student at University College London. Driven by a desire to leverage his privilege in the pursuit of positive social change, Matthew is passionate about ensuring that citizens of the world have access to justice and that they are elevated and supported in their vindication of their rights. Matthew believes that educating and supporting young people from all backgrounds is central to this effort and as such his project is directly aimed at providing nuanced and engaging, civic and democratic education programmes across London. Matthew has aspirations to use his legal skills in the field of diplomacy and international relations and hopes to continue to work for justice.
