Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Veera
Project Veera is a student inititaive towards building awareness and promoting development of the vulnerable sections. In our country India, Women and Children from low-income families who fall below poverty line are more prone to challenges like Domestic Violence, Lack of resources and Opportunities. We observed that such groups find it difficult to combat their problems and challenge the system due to lack of awareness, encouragement and resources. They are forced to adjust to their oppressive circumstances when their fundamental needs are under jeopardy. The courage and mental support required to stand up against issues like Domestic Violence and Derprivation of resources is still lacking within such communities.
Project Veera aims to tackle this issue by fostering practical efforts and boosting Education within these groups. Our project works at three different levels of - COLLABORATION, AWARENESS AND APLLICATION.
In general, we will identify our target community after developing a network of like-minded people, work with them for a considerable amount of time, learn about their issues, and establish a trustworthy environment. Events including street plays, storytelling, workshops on financial literacy, using mobile apps, online resources, and hygiene and health-related programmes will be held after this, as well as programmes that encourage the development of skills like agriculture, tailoring, and plumbing. We'll accomplish this through technological use and intergenerational learning methods. After our sessions with these groups are over, we'll work on their input and apply some built-in tests to determine their level of understanding. Last but not least, we'll work with NGOs to support their continued development & will create digital wishlists to gather resources. We guarantee that they have a secure life with access to the necessities. While instructing them on how to maximize their available resources and cultivate optimism in their grim life!
