Millennium Fellowship Project: Project S.O.C.H.

This initiative is a concerted effort to address gender disparities which are still present on Indian university campuses. Our goal is to subvert the deeply embedded patriarchal ideas that are present in the educational system. Gender justice encompasses issues ranging from casual sexism to unequal access to fundamental resources such as education, public spaces and so on.

The heart of this initiative lies in sparking vital conversations surrounding these issues within the college community, with the ultimate goal of fostering a more inclusive and sensitive environment. Our approach involves a multifaceted strategy, including engaging campaigns and events geared towards sensitizing the community. These initiatives encompass gender sensitization workshops, seminars on issues of utmost importance, community outreach initiatives, and the creation of a campus toolkit and a digital feminist archive. The latter aims to democratize access to feminist literature, making it readily available to all members of the college community.

We envision that by addressing the underlying causes of gender insensitivity and encouraging dialogue, we could achieve a positive impact that extends beyond the classroom and helps to create a more equitable and respectful society at large.
