Millennium Fellowship Project: Waste to greener energy
MyCoal is a project that eliminate the use of firewood as means of energy in the production of staple food locally and also to reduce deforestation. MyCoal introduces a substitute for firewood called charcoal briquette which is produced from agro-forestry waste and is smokeless compared to firewood which contributes to climate change.
the producers of the staple food also face health challenges from the smoke emitted from the firewood like, difficulties in breathing, eyes issues, constant headache and many more. which make the profit earned from their barely enough for them due to health financing which brings about high poverty amongst tis producers.
with the charcoal briquette introduced to these producers, deforestation will reduce, clean energy for production and also good health and well-being at work. the charcoal briquette is affordable as well comapared to the highcost of firewood.
