About the Millennium Fellow

Peyton Stevens is an Animal Behavior and Environmental Science double major with a minor in Anthropology at the University of New England (UNE) in Biddeford, ME, USA. Peyton has always had a passion for learning about animals and discovering how they live, but did not have anyone in her life that could teach her about local species in her home city in Texas. Through a desire to learn about the other taxa she shares the world with, Peyton has begun researching species like the grey squirrels, grassland songbirds, and now local tortoises on UNE's Tangier, Morocco campus. Through her project Peyton hopes to educate children in Morocco about their local species of tortoise, igniting their passion for the animals around them. Peyton plans to get her Master's degree in Environmental Science and eventually her Ph.D. in Ecology.
