Millennium Fellowship Project: Keep Uniben Clean
The aim of this project is to reduce plastic waste in my school. We will go to designated spots in school and pick up the plastics we find. We will store them in plastic bags and turn them over to an agency that recycle plastic waste. It will also involve an awareness program where will we go to at least 5 faculties each semester to educate students on the importance of proper plastic waste management and it's impact in the society. The main reason for campaigning for a reduction in plastic waste is to protect life below water as most of these plastic waste ends up in our water bodies hereby killing or polluting life below water
About the Millennium Fellow
Oluwabunmi Oke is a law student at the faculty of law, University of Benin, Benin City Edo state of Nigeria. As a young person, she is passionate about a clean and healthy environment and intends to promote this through carrying out projects to achieve a healthy environment. In her school community, she volunteers for cleaning exercises under various organizations such as PLOGGAS Nigeria, JCIN UNIBEN, e.t.c. She hopes to contribute positively to global environmental health.
