Millennium Fellowship Project: A fight against Hepatitis B

This project was carried out in Collaboration with the Nigeria medical laboratory science students Association, University of Calabar. It was a four days project. Day 1 was used as an Ankara day in solidarity for people living with hepatitis B.
Day2 Organized a joint rally around the University environment with posters, demonstrations on T-shirts, flyers, write ups on cards and boards. Condoms were shared to adults to encourage safe sexual lifestyle. kickstart the initiative, featuring guest speakers, informative materials, and interactive sessions.
Thereafter, free testing on hepatitis B and C, HIV, and counselling by health professionals.
Day 3. A symposium on the topic "Hepatitis B, seeing beyond the symptoms ", was done by myself and some seasoned lecturers from Chemical pathology, Medical microbiology and Hematology.
I concluded by inviting them to join millennium fellowship Class of 2024 in order to join in the social impact work.
Day 4. An outreach to a primary and to a secondary school for sensitization.

About the Millennium Fellow

I am Iyaji Michael owogoga. A Student from the University of Calabar, Calabar, Nigeria.
I am from a polygamous home and the last child of my family.
I love reading, exploring new things and places and I have a great interest in social and community growth and development especially in matters that concerns health.
