Millennium Fellowship Project: Period Slay Initiative

Period Slay Initiative is a groundbreaking project dedicated to empowering young girls through comprehensive menstrual education. Focused on demystifying menstruation, the initiative covers menstrual disorders and hygiene practices. Through an interactive workshops, we created a safe space for open dialogue. Period Slay aims to break taboos, foster a positive mindset, and equip girls with the knowledge and confidence to manage their menstrual health, promoting a future of empowerment and well-being.

About the Millennium Fellow

Chidera Sandra James-Edeh is a passionate global health enthusiast, a transformative leader and project manager from Enugu, Nigeria, began her journey at the University of Nigeria Nsukka, earning recognition and awards for her exceptional humanitarian contributions. She founded the "Period Slay Initiative" to address key Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on menstrual health, education, eco-friendly period products, gender equality and access to clean water.

Her roots in Akpawfu, Enugu, where basic infrastructures and resources were lacking, fueled her commitment to philanthropic projects and social justice movements. Chidera's exceptional leadership skills and unwavering determination have allowed her to rally like-minded individuals and resources to drive her mission forward.

Her latest project "Aqua-Aid UNEC" is dedicated to providing an easy access to clean water for menstruators, reduce the cost of living expenses for students and improve academic performance within the University of Nigeria Enugu Campus.

Chidera is global ambassador for Theirworld and further aspires to collaborate with global organizations to extend her reach and improve the well-being of her community while contributing to the greater global good.
