Millennium Fellowship Project: UPGRADE: Tech and Accessible Education
The Tech and Accessible Education project is a 4-week program that will benefit 100 low-income students by providing them with valuable skills and training. Participants will be given certificates upon completion of the program, which will improve their employability and help them achieve their goals. The program will focus on providing participants with hands-on experience using Microsoft tools, graphic design software, and web development tools. It will also provide grammar tips and key phrases in the French language, as well as vocational skills like handwork and craftsmanship.
About the Millennium Fellow
Olaide Bankole is final year student of Mass Communication in the University of Lagos, Nigeria. Olaide is passionate about how technology can shape systems and structures in Africa to increase the standard of living of the common man. As a local in Lagos, Nigeria, Olaide has seen how her country, Nigeria has a lot of potential both in its resources and people to grow the economy and she believes technology can make that a reality. Through her project, she hopes to help, in her own little way her fellow students and local community to grow in emerging technology skills and expertise. After she graduates, Olaide plans to continue contributing to further social impact projects both home and abroad.
