Millennium Fellowship Project: The GIRL UP Initiative
The GIRL UP Initiative is aimed at educating young girls on female and menstrual hygiene in order to prevent and reduce the rate of Urinary Tract Infections, Pelvic Infections and Infertility. The project also aids encouragement and sustainability of the hygiene practices by providing sanitary pads, antiseptic soaps and hygiene packages to the young girls. The project plans to reach at least 500 underprivileged girls across 3 states in Nigeria (Lagos, Kwara and Abuja)
About the Millennium Fellow
Mamman Oyinnoiza is a pharmacy student at the University Of Ilorin, Nigeria. She has a deep commitment to making a positive impact in the public health through project development and management.
Her academic journey in Pharmaceutical Science has helped her develop a keen interest, knowledge and skill to strategically address the challenges surrounding public healthcare quality, accessibility and affordability .
Through her project, she hopes to create lasting change in public healthcare of her community and set the pace for other communities, state the country in extension.
After graduation from pharmacy school, she plans to earn an MBA degree in Public Healthcare and work in the public health sector to drive lasting change to a larger scale.
