Millennium Fellowship Project: Back To School Project
Our project aims to provide basic school materials, such as exercise books, stationery, school bags, and sandals, to school children in rural communities who lack them. We also plan to donate textbooks and other learning resources to enhance their education. Our goal is to reach out to 60 needy school children and help them stay in school and learn better.
About the Millennium Fellow
Asonye Ruth is a passionate public health advocate who actively engages in providing quality and accessible basic medical healthcare to individuals in remote areas through organised free medical outreach programs. She also volunteers as a project assistant to provide free health information and drugs at very subsidised rates to sickle cell patients in her immediate community. She is also interested in the welfare of teenage girls and children. To that effect, she currently volunteers as a programs manager with Regina Ateb Foundation to carry out projects that cater to the health and proper educational needs for this population.
As a final year pharmacy student at the University of Port harcourt, she cannot wait to explore opportunities to volunteer with NGOs outside the shores of school.
