Millennium Fellowship Project: Eco-Rescue Initiative
Our project is dedicated to addressing multiple Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 15 (Life on Land). With a holistic approach, we aim to make a positive impact on both the environment and the well-being of children in orphanage homes.
To tackle the issue of plastic waste, we have initiated a collection and recycling program for water sachets and plastic materials. Through this program, we gather discarded plastic materials which will be transformed them into comfortable beds. These beds will then be donated to orphanage homes, providing a safe and comfortable sleeping environment for the children.
By recycling plastic waste, we contribute to SDG 11, which focuses on creating sustainable and inclusive cities and communities. By reducing the amount of plastic waste that ends up in landfills and ecosystems, we promote a cleaner and healthier environment for all. Additionally, by providing recycled beds to orphanage homes, we address the need for quality housing and support the well-being of the children, aligning with SDG 11's objective of ensuring access to safe and affordable housing.
Furthermore, our project incorporates SDG 13 by actively engaging in climate action. In addition to recycling plastic waste, we also prioritize tree planting in school environments. By planting trees, we contribute to SDG 15, which aims to protect and restore ecosystems and biodiversity. Trees play a vital role in mitigating climate change, improving air quality, and providing a conducive learning environment for students.
