Millennium Fellowship Project: Clean water And Hygiene Initiative

My project focuses on solving the problem of clean water unavailability and poor hygiene practices by carryout Geophysical Investigations for Groundwater Resource exploitation within the Community. From the data, we can clarify on the state of Groundwater Resource availability in the community, and identify the depth to aquifer. This will guide drilling Engineers to commence borehole drilling activities with a fore map/image /information of the Subsurface. The project also aims to sensitize the community and secondary schools on the importance of healthy hygiene.

About the Millennium Fellow

Enwereuzo Chinemerem Divinefavour, a senior studying Applied Geophysics at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, possesses an unwavering passion for addressing water contamination and scarcity issues. These challenges predominantly afflict underserved grassroots communities that contribute minimally to the causes of these problems. With a focus on the Anaku community in Anambra State, Chinemerem's project aims to combat frequent well and borehole failures, revitalizing access to clean water sources. Additionally, he plans to provide essential hygiene education to combat water source contamination. Post-graduation, Chinemerem envisions pursuing a Master's degree to further harness his interdisciplinary skills and passion for Hydrogeology.
