Millennium Fellowship Project: Public Health Sensitization and Outreach
The project is going to be two phased, it involves going into rural demographic and holding a dialogue with the leaders of the community, where I would plead with them to gather their middle aged and elderly persons among them for sensitization on the need for constant hospital check-ups and avoidance of untested products. The second phase would involve partnering with a committee in attempting to carry out a free medical outreach to the rural demographic.
About the Millennium Fellow
Chukwuemeka Chibuzor is a 4th year medical student, at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nigeria. He is also an indigene of the Anambra State, the state in which he currently studies. Having spent much of his post high school years in a hospital environment, and experiencing both the excitement from a treated patient and the agony of seriously ill underprivileged patients, he has developed a desire towards bridging the gap between what people can do for themselves and what the government can provide, in the absence of a generalized healthcare coverage through free public medical outreaches and sensitization.
