Millennium Fellowship Project: Equihealth: Bridging Health Disparities
The sub theme of the project was keeping her in the picture, the idea was to raise awareness about breast cancer risk factors, early detection and prevention, foster a sense of community and solidarity among breast cancer survivors while monitoring vitals by the side .
For the awareness, we developed informative brochures and resources on breast cancer, the risk factors, common misconceptions and how to do a quick self examination, we also did a training workshop at the college of health sciences Okofia, where we collaborated with healthcare professionals for their expertise on how to do breast self examination and early detection. We also had personnel on ground checking vitals like Blood pressure, Random blood glucose, height and weight check among other things
About the Millennium Fellow
Achugo Daniel Chimaroke is a 5th year medical student at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital known for his strong passion in global health and social impact. With a focus on addressing pressing healthcare challenges worldwide, he envisions a future where he can make significant contributions towards achieving the sustainable development goals. After completing his medical degree, he aspires to pursue a masters in global health, which will equip him with the knowledge and skills necessary to tackle complex health issues on a global scale. Through his expertise, Achugo aims to drive positive change and play a vital role in advancing the sustainable development goals and improving global health outcomes.
