Millennium Fellowship Project: No to Drug Abuse!

No to Drug Abuse! It is a project designed to teach secondary School students everything about drug abuse. My team went to Our Lady's Secondary school, Nnobi, Anambra state, Nigeria and taught the students what drug abuse means, different substances that are commonly abused, different forms of abusing drugs, the dangers including the health and social implications of drug abuse and the reasons they should say 'no' to the abuse of drug. We also counselled the students to adopt better health seeking behaviors and to talk to someone they trust if they are emotionally disturbed.

About the Millennium Fellow

Gabrielle Ekeomodi is a medical student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University. A calm, gentle and collected fellow that is passionate about youths and how much they can impact in the society and also how much drugs and substances has affected them and lead to a reduced impact on the society. Through her project, she hopes to create awareness on drug and substance abuse. After her graduation, she hopes to set up her drug abuse support team and rehabilitation center to help youths in her community.
