About the Millennium Fellow

Rita Okolie is a 5th year medical student at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nnewi, Anambra state Nigeria. Rita is passionate about team work with her peers to create impact in her local community and the world at large. As a young African girl, Rita is interested in sensitizing the people of her communities against harmful traditional practices such as early child marriage, widowhood inheritance and female genital mutilation amongst many others as this has dealt a huge blow to the bright future of many young girls in the communities.
