Millennium Fellowship Project: From Streets To Safe Homes

The project aims at getting children off the streets to safe homes. By safe homes, I mean getting them back into into homes they deserted. For those that may not be able to get into their homes due to hostility then they can be placed into institutional safe homes.

About the Millennium Fellow

My name is Vanessa Litwayi. As I fight for the things that I care about, I do it in a way that encourages and leads others to join me. I am a mentor, a counselor for children living on the streets who was trained in leadership and management skills and a distant student for Social Work and Community Development who is passionate about helping children to be the best that they can be. I thereby conduct the Drug Arts Therapy sessions with them which in turn helps them to reduce and/or completely stop the intake of drugs. In all this, I hope to see a world free of discrimination, a world that's equitable and inclusive, a world where difference is valued and celebrated thereby creating opportunities for children so that they can reach their full potential. I therefore plan on actively engaging and strengthening relevant childhood networks.
