Millennium Fellowship Project: A GREENER RUAI INITIATIVE.
A Greener Ruai Initiative aims at increasing tree cover in Ruai, Kenya by planting trees in peoples' homesteads. The idea is that when trees are planted in homes there is a greater chance of them being cared for and nurtured to maturity. Further, intensive training is provided to the community on how to plant, care and the imortance of trees. The trainings and tree planting sessions mostly happen on weekends. Since climate action is a big issue, the project is ongoing to ensure increased tree cover in Kenya.
