Millennium Fellowship Project: Warrior Glow
Warrior Glow is an initiative by medical students at the University of Nairobi that helps cancer patients cope with the side effects of treatment such as hair loss. We teach patients how to make turbans to disguise their hair loss, we do their nails as chemotherapy affects their nail beds and we give breast prosthetics to those who have had breast removal surgery. This boosts their confidence in their physical appearance, which is affected by cancer treatment.
