Millennium Fellowship Project: PLASTIC WASTE MANAGEMENT USING PLASTIC EATING MICROBES.

Use of plastic eating bacteria specifically Ideonella sakaiensis in the degradation of plastic waste which is increasingly becoming a threat in the world today.

About the Millennium Fellow

Sussy Shambi Mwanyumba is a fourth year student at The University of Nairobi ,persuing Bachelor Science in Microbiology and Biotechnology. Sussy is passionate about giving back to the community. She is a founder of Boresha Taita Initiative , a non-governmental organisation based in her village area that focuses on mentorship programs, campaigns against drugs and early pregnancies. It also creates awareness to community on importance of health environment.
Sussy is a co-founder of BRAPHO Foundation , a campus based organisation whose main pillars are Antibiotic stewardship, Biomedical Research and Environmental sustainability.
She is a honest , responsible and intelligent lady. Her hobbies being reading articles, singing and reading motivational books.
