Millennium Fellowship Project: Idhini KE

Idhini is Swahili for "Consent".

Idhini KE is an online social platform that promotes open dialogue on sexual consent

among adolescents and the youth, and provides referral support and information to

victims of sexual violence, while promoting comprehensive sexual education. We aim

to break the stigma that survivors of sexual violence often go through.

Through this platform, we have helped a number of survivors of sexual violence by

providing them with access to critical information, resources, and support. The

project's emphasis on education and prevention has been instrumental in shaping

attitudes towards sexual violence. Through targeted interventions, the project has

been able to increase awareness about the impact of sexual violence on individuals

and society. This approach has fostered a culture of consent and dismantled harmful

myths surrounding sexual violence.

We have made a significant impact on people in communities across Kenya, where

issues of sexual violence are unfortunately all too common.

Additionally, we have held campaigns in partnership with other non-profit

organizations to raise funds for less privileged teenage girls in rural Kenya to access reusable sanitary products so as to reduce the prevalence of transactional sex (sex for
pads) and statutory rape.
