Millennium Fellowship Project: Braid and shave

Several kids in informal settlements are faced with various issues as they try to access education.Access to scholarships does not necessarily guarantee ease in accessing basic education.Majority of school kids undergo practices such as cutting their hair using razorblades or scissors which exposes them to various diseases some forgoing school as it proves difficult to meet school needs.Families for go meals and are exposed to malnutrition as they try to take their kids to do their hair for school.Braid and shave offers;Hair maintenance to beneficiaries,acts as a pad drive,training to single mothers on how to braid and career advise.

About the Millennium Fellow

Zuena is a senior Economics student at the University of Nairobi.She is a passionate advocate for inclusive education for all.Geered by this desire she is working on a project where girls in informal settlement can easily access education without difficulties.
