Millennium Fellowship Project: Improving Educational Performance in the Philadelphia City School District
My project seeks to improve educational performance gaps in the Philadelphia City School District. Essentially, we’re working directly with the Philadelphia Board of Education to analyze student gaps in learning, create policy recommendations for possible solutions, and directly implement those solutions with the help of teachers, paraprofessionals and volunteers. This work falls under the 2020 Goals and Guardrails Initiative.
About the Millennium Fellow
Akash Jain is a passionate student majoring in computer science at the University of Pennsylvania with a minor in legal studies and history. Although he’s aware his studies don’t seem to align, he’s extremely interested in the sharing economy, fintech, and improving education policy. When he’s not dancing for Penn Masti(competitive dance team), conducting investment research for FranklinDAO, or consulting for state government officials through PPC(Penn Policy Consulting), he can be found playing and watching sports(J-E-T-S), exploring the local comedy club scene, and eating anything and everything vegetarian.
