Millennium Fellowship Project: Horizon Project (Kayasha)

The Horizon project aims to adopt under-funded schools all over the world, providing vocational classes and fundraising campaigns to revamp the facilities. The primary objective is to improve the quality of education in these schools, with the provision of vocational classes in areas such as computer literacy, agriculture, teaching, community governance.. The project will also focus on infrastructure improvements, including renovations, new classrooms, and essential amenities. The plan is to mobilize resources and raise funds to support the development of rural schools and sustain the project's activities.

About the Millennium Fellow

Kareena Shankta is a sophomore at the University of Pennsylvania, PA, USA majoring in Biology and Economics. Kareena is passionate about sustainable community upliftment and education reform. Growing up in India, she saw firsthand that these are problems that perturbed hers and other nations. During the course of her fellowship, she aims to set up a sustainable pipeline to support underfunded schools, addressing education disparities in these areas, and providing opportunities for students to realize their potential and contribute to community development. After graduating, Kareena will continue her medical education while contributing to the field of public health policy and education reform.
