Millennium Fellowship Project: Oral Health Candle

Our projects is dedicated to changing lives of Rwandans who are not aware of their oral health. From childhood, our teeth are treated as disposable extensions of our body but their role in health is undisputable. They work with glands in mouth to help us chew and grind food that gives us energy. They also kill bacteria that can attack our gastrointestinal system. It is like the brave soldier at the frontline. However, many people are not aware that once the teeth have problems, it indicates there may be more problems. We will conduct teaching sessions across 4 locations that receives the highest traffic in my district. We will teach that if he senses discomfort from mouth, please visit the doctor. Also, most of the problems in the mouth does not cause pain and so, they should regularly check their doctor.
This may be basic information but most people did not have the privilege of knowing that the hospitals provide these services for a very low fee.

We plan to measure our impact through the program sessions we will have. We have a goal of holding four sessions in public places from August to December. Successful implementation will mean we have been able to talk to multiple dozens of people in a single location and able to deliver the message. Through our foreseeable partnership with professionals, it can help us leave with adequate quantitative and quantitative data about most prevalent issues in our community.
